The Airlie Beach Hotel has undergone many changes since 1997. Stage
one of the overall redevelopment was “Mangrove Jacks Café Bar”.
When opened in December 1997, Airlie
Beach saw a new style of dining and entertainment venue unveiled, with
wood fired pizzas, al fresco dining and an open plan and modern gaming
area.
April 2000 heralded the opening of the second stage of the development
which
included Capers on the esplanade and 60 four star hotel rooms which
offered an additional new and exciting
venue and affordable up market
accommodation.
With Capers full air conditioning and size it became the obvious choice
for numerous functions
including the
- 2001-2002 Bastille Ball,
- 2001-2002 Sportsman's Ball, the
- 2002-2003
Outriggers Ball, the
- 2003-2004 & 2005 Airlie Beach Food & Wine
Festivals.
The hotel also
caters for regular Britz German tours, Sunlover Tropical Rail
tours and several other international
tour groups. These guests stay in the hotel and utilize
the excellent facilities at
Capers on the esplanade.
The Airlie Beach Hotel and Capers was extremely proud to
host the 2009
Whitsunday Tourism Awards under a purpose built marquee on
the Esplanade.
Catering for 300 plus guests at a black tie event was an
excellent opportunity to
showcase our fantastic venue, fabulous food and our dedicated
staff.
