Getting to Airlie Beach, Whitsundays

Air travel Air
Australian domestic airlines Virgin Blue and Jetstar have daily direct and connecting flights to Proserpine Airport (Whitsunday Coast) –which is just 25 minutes’drive from the Airlie Beach Hotel.  From the airport you can hire a car or catch a shuttle.  Qantas operates daily flights to Hamilton Island Airport, which is a 30-minute ferry ride to the mainland.
Car travel Road
If you are arriving at the Whitsundays by road, expect to see some first-rate scenery along the way.  Airlie Beach is located just 20 minutes’off the Bruce Highway.  Follow Shute Harbour Road into Airlie Beach and turn left onto the Esplanade.
Bus Travel Bus
Leading coach companies have regular services between major cities and the Whitsundays, as well as from Proserpine, the Proserpine Airport (Whitsunday Coast) and Shute Harbour.
Boat Travel Boat
Ferries to the nearby Whitsunday islands operate several times a day. They depart from Shute Harbour, which is located 10km from Airlie Beach.  Most boating day trips depart from Abel Point Marina in Airlie Beach.
Train Travel

Train
Queensland Rail has regular arrivals into Proserpine –located 26km inland from Airlie. They operate a service between Brisbane and Cairns.
